    Lewis C. Doggett M.D., F.A.A.P

    Dr. Doggett is Board Certified in Pediatrics with over 30 years of experience. He is a graduate of Yale University and Dishner School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at Charity Hospital/Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Doggett is married to Cathy and they reside in Jacksonville, Alabama. They have three children, Lindsay, Carpenter and Allender.
    Dr. Doggett began working at Anniston Pediatrics in 1990.

    His other roles, memberships, activities and achievements include:

    Science teacher at Bayside Academy in Daphne, Alabama; Medical degree from Dishner School of Medicine (ETSU), Johnson City, Tennessee; Pediatric residency (LSU) at Charity Hospital and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans; Actively involved with Al Chapter-AAP serving as Area 4 Rep for two terms (2000-2003 and 2005-2008); Chairman, Perinatal Advisory Committee-Region III (2000-2002); Past volunteer reading coach at local elementary school: Past medical director for Head Start; Founding member and chairman of Alabama Breastfeeding Committee; Lead physician and catalyst for RMC becoming Alabama’s first baby-friendly hospital; Member of the UAB Alabama Child Abuse Provider Network; Board member, Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama (2010-2012); Member, Calhoun County Death Review Team.

    Cathy Doggett BSN, MS, LPC

    Cathy is married to Lewis C. Doggett for 29 years and they have 3 children, Lindsay, Carpenter, and Allender. She is a resident of Anniston/Jacksonville, Alabama after moving from Baton Rouge/New Orleans, La. in 1990. She attended LSU and Charity Hospital School of Nursing and practiced nursing in the Intensive Care Units of Charity Hospital, Tulane Hospital, and Children's Hospital. She later attended Jacksonville State University to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science with a specialty in Community Counseling. 

    She served on the Calhoun County Mental Health Board Member-appointed (1996-2000), Calhoun County YMCA Board Member (1997-2000), Anniston Museum Of Natural History Hospitality Chairwoman, (1992-2002). She also volunteered her time at Coosa Valley Attention Program (2009-2012), and has attended mission trips to Mexico and Honduras (2005,2007), as well as being the assisted facilitator for the Dementia Support Group and Mental Health Support group at RMC.

    She is a member of ACA, ALCA, She also challenged herself with running in the New York Marathon, competing in Tae kwon do, and completing the Cheaha Challenge bike century. She has always had a special interest in alternative healing practices and studied with Dr. Carolyn Myss in Chicago for 2 years. For the last several years, she has been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Anniston Pediatrics. While having so many interests, she has managed to study mindfulness for over 20 years in the US, China and Thailand. and has developed a strong personal practice.

  • susanne matthews
    Susanne S. Matthews, M.D.

    Susanne is Board Certified in Pediatrics with over 20 years' experience. Matthews received her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and her pediatric training from the University of Tennessee Memphis.

    Matthews M.D. serves as a mentor to high school students and a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant students.

    She graduated in good standing from the Birmingham Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. She is currently an active member of the Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., and the Tri County (Al) Chapter of The Links, Inc.

    She is married to Patrick and they have two daughters, Morgan and Melissa as well as two nieces, Chitara and Deandria who she has parented.

    Matthews M.D. relocated from Birmingham to join Anniston Pediatrics in January of 2015.

  • makenzie shadrick
    MaKenzie Shadrick, CPNP

    MaKenzie joined Anniston Pediatrics in February of 2021. Makenzie is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate from Jacksonville State University in 2016, and MSN from UAB in 2020. She has worked as a neonatal nurse in an intensive care unit for almost five years. She currently resides in Moody with her husband, Morgan and their chocolate lab, Charlie.






  • jenna mcdonald
    Jenna McDonald, CPNP

    Jenna received her Undergraduate Degree as well as her Masters in Nursing at the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Nursing.

    Her professional career began at Children's of Alabama's Emergency Department serving as a Registered Nurse from May 2007 until November 2012. Jenna moved to Douglasville, Georgia and practiced as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in a private practice from November 2012 until April 2016.  After moving back to Alabama in 2016, she returned to Children’s ER as a Nurse Practitioner.  Jenna has been employed with Anniston Pediatrics since 2017, but she began working part-time after becoming a nursing instructor at Jacksonville State University. Jenna also enjoys bringing undergraduate nursing students to our practice and the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, as a part of their pediatric clinical rotations.

    She lives in Riverside with her husband, Corey, and their two sons, Weston and Garrett.  They have a cat named Mallie and a betta fish named Phoenix.  Jenna loves cooking, gardening, the lake, Alabama football, playing baseball with her boys, and being outdoors.
